Săvârșin Castle, a historic estate of the Romanian Royal Family, stands as a symbol of architectural elegance and national heritage. Eco Garden Construct was entrusted with the enhancement and revitalisation of the castle’s gardens—blending traditional design with contemporary landscape elements to honour the estate’s rich history while enriching the visitor experience.
Specific client requirements
The primary goal was to restore the estate’s historic landscape while introducing sustainable, functional, and visitor-friendly enhancements. Eco Garden Construct was tasked with preserving the spirit of the original gardens, ensuring biodiversity, and transforming the surroundings into a welcoming space for both public events and private relaxation.

- Historic garden restoration:
- Reorganisation of the iconic Tuscan Garden, including relocation of six mature trees
- Rehabilitation of secondary alleys leading to the castle entrance
- Regeneration pruning and corrective trimming of 30 century-old trees to ensure health and safety
- Sustainable replanting and irrigation:
- 2,500 m² of redesigned green space with premium roll turf and integrated irrigation system
- Perimeter planting of 40 native trees (Tilia and Fraxinus species) along the castle’s boundary fence
- Water feature enhancement:
- Dredging and rehabilitation of the estate’s 2,500 m² lake
- Restoration of the electrical installation and installation of perimeter lighting for ambiance and safety
- Natural and traditional integration:
- Use of stone, wood, and native plants to maintain ecological harmony and reflect the estate’s natural charm
- Visitor amenities:
- Creation of relaxation areas including benches, gazebos, and designated picnic zones
- Ambient landscape lighting system designed to accentuate both the castle and garden features during evening visits
- Ongoing maintenance and training:
- Specialist consultation and maintenance support provided to on-site personnel to ensure long-term garden health and upkeep
