The Railwaymen’s Park project represents a key development for a green-blue corridor along the River. As part of a wider urban regeneration initiative, the project reflects Eco Garden Construct’s expertise in creating multifunctional, sustainable landscapes that promote alternative mobility and urban well-being.
Specific client requirements
We aimed to revitalise an underutilised central area by transforming it into a modern, accessible, and environmentally friendly green space. The main objectives included integrating the Someș River into a broader recreation and mobility network, increasing biodiversity, and offering a safe, inclusive space for leisure. Eco Garden Construct addressed these goals through a tailored approach that combined sustainability, design innovation, and community-centred planning.
Project highlights
- Extensive green coverage: over 49,000 square metres of landscaped green space within a total park area of 53,000 square metres.
- Biodiversity and planting: installation of 27,000 m² of lawn, 5,500 perennials, 32,500 shrubs, and 555 trees of various species to create a thriving ecosystem.
- Eco-friendly irrigation: fully automated system ensuring efficient water use and long-term sustainability.
- Mobility infrastructure: dedicated footpaths, green alleys, and bicycle lanes for safe and seamless movement.
- Nature-based solutions: retention ponds and natural vegetation supporting water management and biodiversity.
- Inclusive amenities: multifunctional pavilions, modern urban furniture, LED lighting, and accessible facilities including ramps and an automatic public toilet.
